§ 22-348. Impersonating an employee or officer.

  • (a)

    No person shall impersonate or shall exercise or assume to exercise any of the powers conferred upon any law enforcement officer, employee, person, or officer of the unified government, including employee of the Urban Renewal Agency and the housing authority of the city and their agents. No person shall wear a star or badge such as provided for or worn by any such employee, person, or officer or by sign or words or in any other way represent or hold himself out to be any law enforcement officer, employee, person, or officer or to possess the power and authority thereof.

    (b)

    No person shall represent oneself to be a public officer or public employee or a person licensed to practice or engage in any profession or vocation for which a license is required by the laws of the state with knowledge that such representation is false.

    (c)

    Impersonating an employee or officer is a class B violation.
