§ 28-21. Witness fees for retired police officers.

In addition to any regular pension, a retired police officer shall receive a witness
fee for all time spent in a municipal court, juvenile court, or state court as a witness
for the state or unified government, or pretrial session designated in writing by
the district attorney or unified government prosecutor. Not more than two witness
fees shall be allowed for any calendar day. Claims for such witness fees shall be
filed with the unified government clerk on the unified government's short claim form
and shall be verified and approved by the chief of police or a police officer designated
by the chief. Payment of such claims shall be from the police and fire fund. Such
payments shall not be considered for pension purposes or pension deductions.
