§ 2-1. Charter of the Unified Government of Wyandotte County/Kansas City, Kansas.

The Charter of the Unified Government of Wyandotte County/Kansas City, Kansas, shall be deemed to be the Consolidation Recommendations made by the Wyandotte County/Kansas City, Kansas, Consolidation Study Commission (hereinafter "Charter") as approved by the voters of Wyandotte County, Kansas, on April 1, 1997. Said Charter shall be construed in conjunction with narrative history expressed in the Consolidation Study Commission Report, and K.S.A. 12-340 et seq., unless otherwise interpreted by a court of competent jurisdiction. It is hereby declared that the authority for creation of the Wyandotte County/Kansas City, Kansas, Consolidation Study Commission was derived from the Kansas Constitution at article II, section 17 and the laws of the State of Kansas.
