§ 2-54. Vacancies.

In the case of a vacancy, the commissioners shall solicit recommendations from eligible voters residing in the district vacated. The commissioners shall appoint from that list an individual to serve the vacated district commissioner until the next election. If appointed to the vacancy during the first two years of the term and prior to January 1 of any year in which an election for commission positions are to be open for election, the vacated position shall be subject to election for the final two years of the unexpired term.
