§ 2-662. Lien procedure.

  • Whenever the amount of any administrative penalty imposed pursuant to this section regarding real estate has not been fully satisfied in full within the longer of either 30 days from the payment date as provided on the citation or 30 days from the final decision of a hearing officer, the obligation shall constitute a lien upon the real property on which the violation occurred. Such lien, including, as a part thereof, allowance of costs and the necessary attorney's fees, may be foreclosed in judicial proceedings in the manner provided or authorized by law for loans secured by liens on real property or shall be assessed as a special assessment against the lot or parcel on which the underlying violation occurred. The unified government clerk shall, at the time of certifying other unified government taxes, certify the unpaid portion of the aforesaid penalty and costs, and the county clerk shall extend the same on the tax rolls of the county against such lot or parcel of land.
