§ 2-512. Nomination, appointment, and term of office.

(a)

The solid waste management committee shall hereafter consist of 11 members appointed by the unified government commission. Position number one shall be jointly nominated by the mayors of Edwardsville and Lake Quivera. Position number two shall be nominated by the mayor of Bonner Springs. Position number three shall be nominated by the mayor/CEO of the unified government to represent the unincorporated area of the county, but need not be a resident of that area. Position numbers four, five, six, seven, and eight shall be nominated by the mayor/CEO of the unified government of to represent the city. Position number nine shall be a representative of Deffenbaugh Industries, Inc. Position number ten shall be a representative of Allied Waste Industries, Inc./Forest View Landfill, LCC. Position number 11 shall be the deputy director of public works of the unified government.

(b)

Terms shall be for four years. The initial term shall begin upon the date of appointment, and shall end on October 1, 2007. Nothing in this resolution shall be construed to prohibit reappointment of a person for more than one term.
