§ 35-170. Lien.

  • If any person, at the request of a law enforcement officer, a parking control officer, a housing inspector, or a building code inspector of the unified government, removes a vehicle under this article or pursuant to any other legal requests for towing of a vehicle by a law enforcement officer, a parking control officer, a housing inspector, or a building code inspector of the unified government, such person shall have a possessory lien on such vehicle for the costs incurred in removing, towing or storing such vehicle. Notice provisions to owner and lienholder, publication notice requirements, and disposition procedures contained in K.S.A. 8-1102—8-1108 that are applicable to abandoned motor vehicles shall govern the disposition of vehicles to which a possessory lien has attached by virtue of this section.
