§ 35-476. Authority to designate locations and place signs prohibiting stopping, standing or parking.

  • (a)

    The traffic engineer may make regulations prohibiting the stopping, standing or parking of vehicles at all times or during certain hours or limiting the length of time vehicles may be parked during certain hours on designated streets or portions thereof. Pursuant to the making of such regulations, the traffic engineer shall place proper signs on such streets.

    (b)

    The county administrator or his delegate shall designate and supervise the installation of parking meters and regulate them in conformity with the provisions of this chapter.

    (c)

    The traffic engineer may designate certain portions of public streets as reserved for handicapped parking.

    (d)

    A person may apply to the traffic engineer to have parking restrictions or prohibitions installed upon any street. If the traffic engineer determines that such restrictions or prohibitions should be installed, the applicant shall pay a fee for the cost of such installation in an amount established by the county administrator.
