§ 35-642. Processions.

  • (a)

    No funeral procession or parade of persons or vehicles, except the military forces the state or of the United States or the police or fire departments shall occupy, march, or proceed along any highway until the chief of police shall have been notified and until the approval of the chief has been obtained. Such approval shall be given upon a showing that public safety will not be endangered.

    (b)

    It shall be unlawful for the driver of any vehicle to drive between the vehicles comprising a funeral or other authorized procession while they are in motion, provided such vehicles are conspicuously so designated. This subsection shall not apply at intersections where traffic is controlled by traffic control devices or police officers.
