§ 36-256. Records.

Every regulated scrap metal dealer shall file and maintain a record of information obtained in compliance with the requirements of section 36-257 of this article. All records kept in accordance with the provisions of this article shall be kept for two years and shall be open at all times to any peace or law enforcement officer or the public officer or his or her designee. If the required information is maintained in electronic format, the regulated scrap metal dealer shall provide a printout of the information to any peace or law enforcement officer or the pubic officer or his or her designee upon request.
