§ 37-127. Required.

  • No person shall drive a vehicle as a taxicab or livery vehicle upon the streets of the city, and no licensee of any taxicab or livery vehicle shall give permission for it to be drive, and no taxicab business or livery vehicle business licensed by the unified government shall be driven for hire unless the driver of the taxicab or livery vehicle shall have then in force a driver's certificate issued under the provisions of this chapter. Except that the license administrator may accept a driver's certificate issued by any other city, by any state or by any political subdivision with standards comparable to those set forth in this article.
