§ 3-24. Control of carbon monoxide emissions.

  • (a)

    No person shall cause or permit the emission of carbon monoxide gases generated during the operation of a gray iron cupola unless they are burned at 1,300 degrees Fahrenheit for 0.3 seconds or greater in a direct flame afterburner or equivalent device as approved by the director.

    (b)

    No person shall emit carbon monoxide waste gas stream from any catalyst regeneration of a petroleum cracking system, petroleum fluid cooker, or other petroleum process into the atmosphere, unless the waste gas stream is burned at 1,300 degrees Fahrenheit for 0.3 seconds or greater in a direct flame afterburner or equivalent device, as approved by the director.
