§ 4-43. Findings of fact; territorial applicability.

  • (a)

    The misuse of alcohol is a serious social, economic, health and community problem, depreciating the potential of the individual and the individual's contribution to society.

    (b)

    There is a need for the unified government to provide for and assist in programs and services to abate the incidence and prevalence of alcohol abuse and to provide for the prevention and treatment of alcoholism.

    (c)

    Under the provisions of K.S.A. 79-41a01 et seq., monies have been made available to be deposited into the special alcohol programs fund of the unified government to provide for such programs and services.

    (d)

    The provisions of this article apply to all territory under the jurisdiction of the unified government.
