§ 4-69. Duties and responsibilities.

  • (a)

    The alcohol and drug fund advisory committee shall:

    (1)

    Recommend to the unified government board of commissioners appropriate uses of the unified government's special alcohol and drug funds and purchases or contracts for the provision of substance abuse treatment and prevention services;

    (2)

    Provide oversight of the unified government's alcohol and drug programs;

    (3)

    Solicit proposals of substance abuse treatment and prevention services to be purchased by contract with the unified government;

    (4)

    Evaluate service proposals to ensure their conformance with community objectives and consistency with local area, regional or state plans for substance abuse prevention and treatment, including, but not limited to, the plans adopted by the department of social and rehabilitation services (SRS);

    (5)

    Evaluate the performance of persons and agencies from which alcohol and drug services to the community are purchased; and

    (6)

    Develop recommendations to the unified government board of commissioners for plans of action with regard to substance abuse treatment and prevention services or programs to be operated by the unified government.

    (b)

    The committee shall cause a record to be kept of its proceedings.
