§ 6-81. Hours of operation.

  • (a)

    It shall be unlawful for any pool hall, billiard hall or shooting gallery to remain open for business after 1:00 a.m. or to open for business before 7:00 a.m.; provided, however, that a pool hall, billiard hall or shooting gallery shall be permitted to remain open for 24-hour periods during a district, state or national tournament conducted on its premises upon approval being obtained from the county administrator; provided, further, however, that the county administrator shall approve such extended hours for no more than two such district, state or national tournaments per year per premises.

    (b)

    It shall be unlawful for any bowling alley in the city to remain open for business after 3:00 a.m. or to open for business before 7:00 a.m.; provided, however, that a bowling alley shall be permitted to remain open for 24-hour periods during a district, state or national tournament conducted on its premises upon approval being obtained from the county administrator. Such approval shall be given upon a showing of compliance with all applicable laws and ordinances and a further showing that public peace and order will not be disturbed.
