§ 7-261. Required.

(a)

It is unlawful for any person to keep any weaned dog or cat past the age of six months in the city, unless the same has been registered for the current year in accordance with this division.

(b)

Subsection (a) of this section does not apply to any nonresident owner or keeper of a dog or cat while such nonresident is passing through the city, provided such dog or cat shall remain on a leash or otherwise effectively physically restrained, as in a closed vehicle.
