§ 8-66. Outdoor advertising signs.

  • (a)

    Any person owning, controlling, or maintaining any outdoor advertising sign within the city shall file annually, between December 15 and December 31 of each calendar year, a report with the building official, in a form approved by such official, giving the location, size, and illumination of all existing signs that such person controls.

    (b)

    The building official or the authorized agent of the same shall annually inspect, during the month of January of each calendar year, all outdoor advertising signs within the city limits to determine their conformance with the provisions hereof. No renewal permit shall be issued for any legal, nonconforming outdoor advertising sign until such inspection is made and the sign for which the renewal permit is requested complies herewith. The annual inspection fee for each sign shall be as established by the county administrator and shall be paid at the time the annual report for each such sign is filed with the building official.
