§ 8-191. Definitions.

  • The following words and phrases, when used in this article, shall, for the purpose of this article, have the meanings respectively ascribed to them in this section, except when the context otherwise requires:

    Fence means a vertical, freestanding barrier or enclosure constructed of wood, masonry or metal that supports no load other than its own weight.

    Open fence means a fence in which openings between the materials of which the fence is constructed represent not less than 40 percent of the total surface of the fence when viewed perpendicular to the face of the fence.

    Solid fence means a fence so constructed that it completely obstructs the view.
