§ 8-279. Definitions.

  • The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this article, shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this section, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning:

    Employee mechanic means a person who is required to register as such who is working at the trade in the employment of a licensed mechanical contractor.

    Master mechanic means a person having the necessary qualifications, training, experience and technical knowledge to properly plan, lay out, supervise, install and repair mechanical apparati and equipment for heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, incinerators and other miscellaneous heat-producing appliances.

    Master mechanical contractor means any person who undertakes or offers to undertake for another the planning, laying out, supervising and installing or the making of additions, alterations and repairs in the installation of mechanical apparati and equipment for heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, incinerators and other miscellaneous heat-producing appliances.
