§ 9-1. Definitions.
The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this article, shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this section, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning:
Commercial structure means any structure used for the production of income, except for those structures used for heavy industrial purposes.
Department means the department or agency of the unified government responsible for administration of community development block grant funds.
Director means the director of the department or agency responsible for administration of community development block grant funds.
Public official means any unified government, state or federal officer elected or appointed for a specific term.
Rehabilitation means the repair, reconstruction, demolition, weatherization and improvement or conversion of a structure to eliminate an unsafe, unsanitary, unsightly, overcrowded, or some slum and blighted condition or to reduce waste in utility consumption.
Residential structure means any structure used for residential purposes, including, but not limited to, single-family structures, duplexes, townhouses, apartment complexes, and structures for mixed used wherein at least 25 percent of the space is used for residential purposes.
Structure means a building or buildings and such surrounding grounds and site improvements thereon necessary to the basic use of the building.
