§ 16-1. Territorial applicability; definitions.

  • (a)

    This chapter applies to all territory under the jurisdiction of the unified government.

    (b)

    The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this chapter, shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this subsection, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning:

    Food means any raw, cooked or processed edible substance, beverage or ingredient used or intended for use or for sale, in whole or in part, for human consumption.

    Poultry means, but is not limited to, any domesticated bird, including chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys, pigeons and guineas, whether live or dead, as defined in 9 CFR 381.
