§ 2-56. General powers and duties of the commission.

  • (a)

    All powers inherent in the county and city shall be vested in the commission except as the Constitution and statutes of the State of Kansas, the Charter, or the Charter ordinances, and Charter resolutions of the unified government may provide otherwise.

    (b)

    The commission shall provide for the performance of all duties and obligations imposed upon the county and city by law. The commissioners shall have the power to adopt codes, ordinances, resolutions and approve and adopt a budget. The commission shall adopt such codes and rules and regulations as may be necessary for the establishment of proper authority and direction for the administration of the affairs of the unified government. The commission shall set priorities for budget preparation and adopt the annual budget of the unified government.
