§ 2-61. Appointment and removal of employees; administration; forfeiture of office.

  • (a)

    Neither the commission nor any of its individual members shall in any manner direct, supervise or require the appointment, promotion, transfer, assignment, demotion, discipline, suspension, discharge or removal of any officers or employee that the mayor, county administrator or any of their subordinates are empowered to appoint.

    (b)

    Except for the purpose of commission authorized investigations, the commission and its members shall deal with appointive officers or employees subject to the direction and supervision of the county administrator solely through the county administrator. Neither the commission nor its members individually shall give orders to such appointive officers or employees either publicly or privately but shall be provided basic information for commission business.

    (c)

    The mayor or any commission member shall automatically and immediately forfeit office if at any time during the term of that office said person lacks any qualifications for the office prescribed by any applicable law.
