§ 35-643. Street barriers.

  • (a)

    Whenever any street or alley is closed for repair, rebuilding, construction or reconstruction and suitable warning signs, barricades and protective devices which so advise the public are erected at all intersections of the closed street or alley with all other streets and alleys, it shall be unlawful for any person or operator without authority from the proper official to:

    (1)

    Destroy, tear down, or remove any barricade, protective device, warning sign, light or torch used to close the street or alley or warn the public of the closing.

    (2)

    Drive on that portion of the street or alley that is closed.

    (b)

    Nothing in this section shall be construed as prohibiting the regular authorities of the unified government, state or federal government from having free access to the work at all times.
