Every person applying for a scrap metal dealer registration shall, before such registration
is issued, furnish to the city a bond in the penal sum of $2,000.00, conditioned that
such person will strictly and faithfully observe all ordinances, regulations and requirements
of the city in relation to scrap metal dealers and other businesses and will pay all
costs, fines and penalties incurred on account of failure or neglect to do so and
will pay all damages resulting to any person by reason of wrongfully purchasing or
taking or receiving any stolen property or the property of any minor. Such bond shall
be filed with the neighborhood resource center and may be sued upon by any person
damaged in the name of the city to the use of such person, but in no event shall be
the city be liable for any costs in such suit.
