§ 6-21. Definitions.

  • The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this article, shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this section, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning:

    Amusement enterprise means and includes circuses, menageries, carnivals, sideshows and other similar amusement enterprises that are open to the public and for which an admission fee is charged.

    Carnival means and includes amusement activities, rides, merry-go-rounds, booths for the conduct of games of skill, food dispensing facilities and sideshows. A carnival shall not include gambling devices, games of chance, lotteries, punchboards or other activities in violation of unified government ordinances or any state or federal law.

    Circus means a show or performance that includes, but is not limited to, feats of physical skill and daring, animal acts, or performances by jugglers or clowns.
