§ 8-65. Same—Lighting requirements.

  • No new sign shall be permitted which does not comply with the following lighting requirements:

    (1)

    No rotating beam or flashing beacon light shall be used on any sign or sign structure.

    (2)

    The light source for any sign shall not be directed toward any one-family, two-family, or apartment zoning district.

    (3)

    Time and temperature signs shall not flash, blink, or alternate more frequently than 30 times per minute.

    (4)

    Illumination for any sign shall be by electricity. Bare neon lighting shall be permitted. Fluorescent and incandescent lighting shall be diffused by translucent glass or plastic.

    (5)

    All signs shall comply with all applicable provisions of the electrical code of the unified government.
