§ 36-197. Bond.

  • Every person applying for a license to engage in or carry on the business of secondhand dealer or junk dealer shall, before such license is issued, furnish to the unified government a bond in the penal sum of $2,000.00, conditioned that such person will strictly and faithfully observe all ordinances, regulations and requirements of the unified government in relation to secondhand dealers, junk dealers and other businesses and will pay all costs, fines and penalties incurred on account of failure or neglect to do so and will pay all damages resulting to any person by reason of wrongfully purchasing or taking or receiving any stolen property or the property of any minor. Such bond shall be filed with the license department and may be sued upon by any person damaged in the name of the unified government to the use of such person, but in no event shall be the unified government be liable for any costs in such suit.
