§ 37-172. Livery vehicle passenger fares.

  • (a)

    Every livery vehicle business licensed under the provisions of this chapter shall be for hire at a charge fixed by written agreement in advance which shall entitle the party contracting for livery service to the exclusive use of the vehicle for the individual or group during the agreed term of the hiring or for transportation to the specified destination or destinations; whichever the case may be.

    (b)

    Fares established for livery vehicles shall be filed with the license administrator at least 30 days before they shall become effective. Rates may not be changed more frequently than every 270 days. No livery vehicle licensee shall charge any fare for any livery vehicle service other than the fares filed with the license administrator in accordance with this section. Fares for such livery service operation shall be available for inspection in the vehicle on a printed form provided by the license administrator.
